I DO - DREAM FILMED

When I thought about getting married again I dreamt of a motorcycle wedding with a parade of bikes driving through town to share our special day together uniting us as one doing what we love to do…RIDE!

Pulling this wedding off and bringing friends and family through the Bahamas was over the top. I invited 30 people to join me which all wanted to participated but were afraid. Americans were not allowed to fly unless Cuban and it was a $10,000 fine if caught coming through customs. They all knew how many times I had flown there and told them it was safe. So my crazy friends booked and off we went to Grand Bahamas for my Bachelorette Bash staying a few nights. I had 18 participants in Bahamas and 15 continued on with me to Cuba.

I had to fly to Bahamas a month earlier with cash in hand to pay for our flights to Cuba and through this entire process I went from 175 lbs to 142 lbs… Luis on the other hand was so stressed he began to lose his hair. YIKES!

Luis told me that they were going to film our wedding. I thought cool someone has a video camera… However, as we came out of the airport there were several motorcycles and a film crew videotaping me introducing Luis and gang to my family and friends. I had no idea that a French crew was in town doing a documentary of how Harley Davidson’s brings countries together. When they found out that a crazy American was smuggling her family to Cuba for the largest biker wedding they have seen. Gina, my sister, said OMG you are a flippin movie star and we laughed. Oh my what a whirl wind.

We had a few days to play which are the photos above. Friday night we had the dress rehearsal at the Church. I brought a suitcase of decorations for the church that my future mother-in-laws friends put together and put at the end of the pews. We had a dinner for all at the house that Sara made for us upon our return. All the gals had their toes and nails done. The energy was HIGH and I was so very excited and happy they were here with me. Some pics below of the festivities…

Photos above is where the wedding reception was held on the water it was spectacular and truly felt like a princess. Luis made us a trike for the wedding procession. The last time I was there it was in pieces and when we all got to the house the trike was made by him and was spectacular. I am marrying my soul mate for sure!

Getting ready with my crew at their hotel…the big day!

Everyone was picked up in vintage American made cars that were spectacular. Above pics are my sisters that were in the wedding party. We had to stop at the hotel bar and have a quick shot to settle our nerves.

Below are the pictures from the ceremony. When Dave and I arrived to the Church everyone was inside waiting for us. It was a hot Spring day and was so hot in that long wedding dress but the show must go on! The below pictures captures the ceremony which we did in Spanish. I practiced my vows but repeated what the priest said. At one point I was repeating him and I said shit in Spanish instead of mother and the entire Church laughed - Luis smiled and I said “what did I say.” Luis shrugged it off - oh well the show must go on lol.

We danced the day away on the ocean and after party there we headed back to Luis’ house where all were invited for the after party til wee hours of the morning. All I can say that it was the most magical time of my life. I had to pinch myself because I was so happy and could not wait for Luis to be my partner in life in the USA soon…to be continued!
